Ted is a 2012 American comedy film, directed, written and produced by Seth MacFarlane and starring himself as the title character, with Mark Wahlberg, Mila Kunis, Giovanni Ribisi, Jessica Stroup, and Patrick Warburton. The film is the feature-length directorial debut of MacFarlane, produced by Media Rights Capital, and distributed by Universal Pictures.
Production: MacFarlane's directorial debut is a live-action effort, with computer animation handled by visual effects facilities Tippet Studio and Laura. MacFarlane wrote the screenplay with his Family Guy colleagues Alec Sulking and Wellesley Wild. MacFarlane announced the movie in the February 10, 2011, episode of Conan. Filming began in May 2011 in Boston and Swampscott, Massachusetts. The film was set for a July 13, 2012, release in North America, but was pushed up to June 29 after the delay of G.I. Joe: Retaliation. The film is due to be released in the United Kingdom on August 1, 2012 and in Australia on July 5, 2012.
